John Bruce

John joined Cleveland Constabulary as a Cadet in 1982, becoming a regular in 1984. Over the next 16 years he worked as a Response Officer in Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Stockton Districts and also served in a number of specialist Departments.

He was promoted Sergeant in January 2001, again serving on response at Hartlepool and Stockton including a period as custody Sergeant.

He was promoted Inspector in January 2006 and served on response at Redcar & Cleveland.

He was elected as a Federation Representative in January 2005 firstly as the operational Sergeant for Stockton then latterly as the operational Inspector for Redcar & Cleveland. During this time he has served as both the Branch Board Secretary for the Sergeants and Inspectors Boards.

John is currently the Deputy Secretary / Treasurer for the Joint Branch Board based at Headquarters.

He is married with 2 small children and his hobbies include cricket and rugby but he is well past playing either!
